 Candid Records Philippines and Shangri-la Plaza Mall with Crossover 105.1 presents ‘The Ladies of Candid’ as two of the most sought-after chanteuses in the local music scene performs at The Grand Atrium of Shangri-la Plaza Mall.

 

 

On February 23 (Friday) at 6 in the evening, Skarlet, the new voice of jazz launches her 14-track debut album aptly entitled ‘The Powder Room Stories’.  Skarlet, formerly known as the spunky frontwoman of Brownbeat AllStars and the voice behind the hit single ‘Manila Girl’ and ‘My Boy Lollipop’, reinvents herself as she fly solo on her newest ensemble. Backed-up by some of the biggest names in the jazz scene today including young guitar virtuoso Aya Yuson, Simon Tan on upright bass, Koko Bermejo and Alex Fidel on drums, Joel Galang and Henry Katindig on piano and Ronald Tomas on tenor sax.  Others who lend their talents on this much awaited jazz album also includes master percussionist Bo Razon, Freddie Samson, Ronaldo Banaag, Ramon Mancio, Sherwin Valencia, Jekjek Cenidosa, Paul Tadeo, George Abundo, Roxy Modesto, Wynton Magsalin and Mei Tayengco.

 

On February 25 (Sunday) at 5 in the afternoon, dubbed as ‘the enchanting crooner’, Girl Valencia continues her album promo tour for ‘Driftwood Travelling’ released under Candid’s sub label –Isla Records.  Valencia won several music awards and nominations including UNESCO Peace Prize of Excellence held in Japan, Likhawit National Songfest and nominated for Awit Awards Best Movie Sountrack in her composition ‘Tanging Mahal’ which was interpreted by no less than Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. A former TV newscaster and an award winning children’s book writer, Girl Valencia will showcase her outstanding vocal prowess as she sings jazz standards, bossa and tracks from her album.   Skarlet’s ‘The Powder Room Stories’ and Girl Valencia’s ‘Driftwood Travelling’ are  now available on compact disc on all music stores nationwide.
